The Passing of A Legend

Haven't been updating for months now... And the first thing I blog about here is about death... What a start!

Michael Jackson just passed away yesterday, on the 25th June 2009 due to cardiac arrest. He was 50 years old. Just FIFTY... Barely out of middle age only. I still find it shocking.

Not that I'm a Michael Jackson fan or whatever, but the fact that the first music legend I know since I was young just passed away still hasn't sink in yet. Yeah yeah, the undoubtly controversial pop singer sure had lots of, erm, as I said controversies surrounding him, his contributions to music arena is in fact, undeniable. And who would not know about the famous Moonwalk popularized by him?...

In spite of all the negativity surrounding him, his should still be respected for his musical contributions. If Beatles was a pop icon in the 60s, then I would call Michael Jackson one in the 80s. He was still very famous in 90s.

May he rest in peace.

Interesting Conversation (maybe not afterall...)

The reverse is true...

This post is sort of a response to what I saw on Zizi's blog...

I first came across this poem during Rev Edmund Chan's Discipleship Conference in Dream Centre about 2 weeks ago. It sends a powerful message to the Chirstian community, if not the whole world.

These type of reverse poems including the one on Zizi's blog) are very powerful. If only we can reverse the situation, things would be different.

If only we could see things in a opposite perspective like how God view us, things would be different.

Kids Nowadays...

Had a wonderful Birthday celebration this year =) Thanks to all you who celebrated with me, who painstakingly went through the surprise planning process but yet it was foiled by me!! Lols... Saw through the surprise lah...

I will post up the pics and a proper account of that day's event. One day...

Research work is catching up with me... But don't think I'm catching up with it though...

Found this video on Youtube and it's super farney!!! Sorry only those who understands chinese would get the joke...

This is actually a Taiwanese Singing Competition for the children, ranging from age 2 or 3 onwards till 12. Some of the kids can really sing, better than adults!

This boy just finished his turn (he got a full score of 25 stars) and apparently when the little girl came out, he liked her so much he asked the production team if he could go up the stage again and sing her a song. Basically he wanted to flirt with her!! And we wonder why kids nowadays mature so fast -_-"...

What happened next was crazily hilarious!! He wanted to sing a songs entitled "I ask the Heavens " (ok literal trnaslation kay...) and when the hosts ask him why he chose that song, he replied that he wanted to ask the heavens why he only got the chance today to meet such sexy girl !!!! LIKE HE IS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD!! HELLO??!!

The girl cried after he finished singing!! Shocking! And when asked further, she was actually touched by his singing so she cried!! WHAT THE??!!! And then she rejected him??!! Lagi drama... She said he has got too many girlfriends (which the boy admitted earlier)...

What a smart girl!!!

Too many things in my mind...

Too much of worries, too little I can do...

I wished I could help relieve the tension and anxiousness, but I can only say "don't worry".

As if that line helps. I'm not the one who's going through all that. How would I know her feelings? Fear of uncertainty, fear of the future.

God help me help her.

Harlow! It's time I greet my much forgotten blog here. There's nothing much to say recently. Everyday is like the day before. Christmas - New Year - Chinese New Year... Like what I've mentioned in my previous entry, it came and went.

I won't talk much about new year's resolution and stuffs (never really fulfill them anyway, so why waste time?) but I still wanna express my gratitude to God who watched over me and also my whole family through this year... Oh no, it's last year. It wasn't exactly a very good year, with all the disasters and economy turmoil, but hey, we managed through. And that alone is a good reason to rejoice and celebrate His goodness.

It was sort of the last year for me and my uni friends to be together, and it saddens me so much that we are going to part ways soon. The friendship that was built over the 3 years had seen through many tears and laughter, sweat and blood (the studying part hahaha)... I will forever miss the Happy Happy Hippy Meal times with Dinner Gang. Sitting down together in front of the TV, talking nonsense and discussing study-related stuffs. If only we could literally roll the camera of memories right now, I believe all of us would laugh and cry together. Take care all you M1/06ers. Ms Fun Fun here will forever be proud and happy that she belongs to the hippiest and craziest IMU batch ever.

Side track abit... Heheh I saw this video on Kido's (member of my favourite Taiwan dancing-singing pop group, KOne) blog. It's super funny wei!! It's a Jap video but subbed with Chinese. I won't translate what is it about here because I don't want to give out spoilers. But if you understand Mandarin, you should watch this and get a good laugh hahaha...

Awww... Poor little boy. He's a bit dramatic but then who can take it if you're being rejected in public like that??... Hahahahaha...

Christmas came and Christmas went...

New Year coming and will be gone soon...

Before you know it, everyone starts the "Gong Xi Gong Xi Gong Xi Ni". Actually it started playing about the same time when people started preparing for Christmas. Why lah the time fly by so fast? God should have make 1 second longer...

Christmas this year was cool. Cool as in good. Not cool as in temperature. Weather was hot like nobody's business. Bro and I roasted 2 chickens and all relatives gave good comments. Hmmm I think I'm getting better as I roast more chicken. Wanna order? I think we can set up a company. My bro is darn good with mashed potato and he's getting better with cheese cakes. Maybe we both should drop our medicine and dentistry courses and persue culinary arts.

Sorry no pictures. Was busy preparing food lah. Where got time to cam whore somemore...

Watched Transformers on HBO Astro yesterday night with the whole family. I never get bored of it lah. Yesterday marked my 4th time watching already. It's just so good. I still remember after watching it the first time at cinema, every single car I saw on the road started transforming in my own imagination. Crazy huh.

Oh yeah HBO advertises their chanel this way:

This is not TV. This is HBO.

What the?... And I was like:

Yeah. This is HBO on TV.

Apa ni lah not TV but HBO... It's HBO on TV lah...

For those Shrek lovers out there, I believe most of you know this song "Accidentally In Love" by Counting Crows. It was the theme song for Shrek 2. Though the song rocks with cuteness, the originally video is rather disturbing. (What's with singing bunny and weird dancing-cooking bf who in the end loses the gal to the singing bunny??!!)

In the end I found this new MV made by some random guy on Youtube. Really cute.

Really brings back memories. This song is rather special to me because it was introduced to me by someone in my past. I still like the song very much for it's pure innocence about love.

There is another version made using characters from Jimmy Neutron. But Youtube has disabled the video sharing option for this upon request. Dunno why...

But the video is really cute anyway!!
